Nintendo Does Not Control All Of The Vir ...

Just a helpful reminder.Sometimes you see posters asking why Nintendo releases so few games on the Virtual Console or today they've been asking why certain games aren't patched. The reason is that Nintendo isn't in charge of the Virtual Console past it's own games and systems (NES, SNES, N64)When it comes to the Genesis, TG-16, And Neo Geo they control everything with their own games and systems. That means that it's up to each individual company to name it's asking price for the games, the schedule in which they are released, and provide any patches that could be needed. So please, when you take issue with the Virtual Console please direct your verbal barbs in the correct direction.Nintendo Does Not Control All Of The Vir ...
I believe Nintendo controls when things are released since there's a limit of 2 or 3 a week. It's not like Sega, Hudson, or SNK can just say, ''Okay we're releasing 5 games this week''.Nintendo Does Not Control All Of The Vir ...
Ah yes, so the bottom line here is that other compaines dictate to Nintendo to release which game and when to relase it. They give Nintendo dates (time frames) and prices (# of points) to release the game at. Then, they both share the money the game(s) that the aforementioned consoles bring in.Is that what I was supposed to get from that post?
Nintendo is in charge on what's coming on the VC. Someone asks a question on the Capcom board about if Nintendo is in charge of any games that is coming. Nintendo has to request to the 3rd party to bring their games on the VC. The 3rd party gave them their code and Nintendo publishes them on the servers. Christian Svensson from Capcom did confirm this. http://www.capcom.com/BBS/showthread.php?t=24632Everything from the Nintendo consoles, it's Nintendo who has the job. It's Sega, Hudson Soft and SNK that may be a different case. They bring their 1st party game on the VC. However, it's not SNK who brings Neo Geo games to NA. It's D4 Entreprise. However, it's still Nintendo's job to tell which game will come on the month.

You're talking about a third party maker not a console maker. They're lower on the ladder.
Rocky, the companies COULD release a bunch if they want but that would be very counterproductive plus I think Nintendo would advise them against it. Pretty much by saying ''what is wrong with you?'' In the article that had the one in charge of Neo Geo coming to the Virtual Console he said that he wasn't sure which games he'd choose to launch with and what price he'd be asking. Neo Geo got the same deal that works with the Genesis and the TG-16.
Not only that, but Nintendo has to work together with the original developer to get games released on the VC (case in point: Rare).

I just wish EA would jump on board with all of their 90's sports games.
I just wish EA would jump on board with all of their 90's sports games.
There's too many liscencing issues with the players names, MLB, NFL, NBA, etc. Just look at Tecmo Bowl.
I think what happens is that Nintendo limits each console to a certain number of games in a certain time frame (such as 4 a month or whatever). They can't go over that amount and can release what they want, and when they want. Obviously we don't know the full details but there has to be some kind of limit. That is exactly what they are doing with WiiWare. Each developer can only release like one game a month or something. I forget the exact number but it was said in an IGN podcast.

Most of us want it on VC and have no where else but these boards to say it. You like Earthbound, obviously. Imagine trying to explain Earthbound's greatness to someone who has never played... you would praise it.

(but hey, we all have our opinions, no?)
