Some HD sets are having trouble with some games on the Virtual Console.HERE, check it outMommy, what's wrong with my Wii?
Nintendo should've fixed this problem a long long time ago, as it existed on the Cube as well. I can't play Megaman X collection on my Cube or Wii on ANY TV when its hooked up via component.Scares me when buying some VC games too. I don't wanna pay $10 or so only to find out I can't play it on my TV since I have the best connection possible.
Some HD sets are having trouble with some games on the Virtual Console.HERE, check it out
well that sucks
Neo Geo games don't play in 480p. Put your settings on 480i. Problem solved.
I knew I could count on Jayson! I'm kind of disappointed with the response though. I agree with boostud that it's an issue that needs to be fixed. Is this going to happen with all NeoGeo games? Is it a direct causeof the component cables? Although I'd love to experience this gem of a gamefor the first time, I don't want to constantly be switching cables or move my Wii to a seperate tv for a few hours to play a game that I don't see myself playing alone (as is usually the case).I might have to just demand a refund of points and wash my hands of King and the gang. It's a sad day for fighters...

Some HD sets are having trouble with some games on the Virtual Console.HERE, check it out
well that sucks
I like how Nintendo just beats around the bush instead of clearly stating the component cables DO NOT WORK with all games. What a bunch of jerks. PATCH IT!!
Neo Geo games don't play in 480p. Put your settings on 480i. Problem solved.
what he said. That's more likely your problem
Neo Geo games don't play in 480p. Put your settings on 480i. Problem solved.
I believe I've tried that. It was the most obvious and first on my list of things to check. I'll try again tonight to see if the setting did not save when I made the change. If this is the case, why would I get the same results when I press the home button in both settings? Sadly, I believe the answer is more complicated for a deeper unknown reason.
I'm not too sure what the cause is though I do think that if you switch to composite it might work. Each company gets to make their own games for the Virtual Console(that includes release dates)I'm thinking that if it only happens with one company there might be a problem in the way they're translated. In other words this might not be in Nintendo's hands at all.
Nintendo is forbid to touch any games except their own.The game he's talking about is a Neo Geo game which means he has to wait for them to resolve the issue.Nintendo cannot touch that game in any way except to release it to the Virtual Console.

To be honest, I've yet to download anything for VC, I have many of my favorite oldies in their original cartridges, and all my Nintendo consoles work. If there are any games that I ever want to get for VC, I do hope they are patched. Please Nintendo.EDIT: Just read Jaysonguy's response, had no idea it was like that. Well, as long as Nintendo games work, I think I will be OK.
Guess I'm just gonna ask to be reimbursed. I don't want the hassle of switching my setup for this one game.
They shouldn't need to patch the games, they should patch the console. And for another statement above....NO switching it to 480i does not work. Its a problem with component cables no matter what brand you have. They are analog, it wouldn't matter.
They shouldn't need to patch the games, they should patch the console.
No that's completely false. If Nintendo tells all these companies that their games should be coded ABC and the company decides to code it XYZ it's up to the company to recode the game ABC. Nintendo shouldn't make their console accept ABC plus XYZ, can you imagine what a quagmire they'd have on their hands?

I had the same problem. I can get it to work if I hook my Wii to my DVD player and use that output. It still sucks that I have to do that everytime I want to play it. It's not Nintendo fault but SNKs'. Oh well. Street Fighter 2 Turbo is funner and runs in 480p.
