I've been on a bunch of times and haven't had any problems. Check your connection is the best advice I could give. The online game play is pretty nice. Hope this helps.
Is someone else hogging your bandwith? And do you have DSL, or Broadband?.
Well I have no lag and I've been playing for a long time so check ur Modem or Router and no it has no local multi-player
