We get home and unpack everything and she starts cooking. Suddenly she informs me that she forgot to get toothpicks, and I already had been to the store twice so I wasn't too excited to go back into town especially on a Friday afternoon cause everyone is at the damn store. So I head back to Walmart to grab the toothpicks, and as I grab a box of them off the shelf I convince myself to go to the electronics department and just take one more look since Iwas there already. I round the corner and start glancing at all the Xbox 360 games (this was especially painful since my 360 just got the red ring of death and is now on its way to be repaired) working my way to the Wii stuff. Suddenly, I catch a glimpse of a White box in the case that usually is bare. Could it be? I get a bit closer and I see the three magic letters W-i-i ! I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and just then the clerk comes over and asks if he can get anything for me. Your Damn Right you can get something for me ! He tells me that this was the only one they got this week and it just came out of the trailer 20 minutes ago. I felt like I just won the lottery, and I knew my daughter was going to flip when I come home with a Wii.As I was leaving I was getting eye-balled by so many people since you could easily see through the white plastic bag. I felt like I was in danger of getting robbed at gun point, but I made it home safely. When I told my daughter that I had a surprise for her she was pretty excited, and then once she saw what it was she practically broke my ribs giving me a huge hug. My wife said I was one lucky SOB, but I new it was fate! All the times I walked away empty handed only made it that much sweeter.The only problem now is that my wife won't relinquish the Wii controller! I remember Black Friday last november there was 1 wii left and the guy who picked it up got tackled by some dude outta nowhere and they started brawling. It was the best thing Ive ever seen. Oh and when I got my wii earlier that morning at 7 when Gamestop opened, I was 9th in line when they only had 10 :P I told the guy behind me congrats and humped my wii all the way out of the store, into the mall, out the exit into the parking lot past the line of about 200 people saying ''Youre not getting one'' haha. good times.

i didn't read your whole post. but the wii is not in short supply because nintendo wants it that way. they make about 1.8 to 2 million wiis a months, its just everyone wants them.

I got mine launch day and I felt like I was gonna get robbed when I was walking to the car, so I know how you feel. People are going out of their minds for the Wii and probably will be this coming year with it being so popular. Might want to have your daughter keep it on the down-low at school because some kids might actually have the nerve to break in and steal it. People are doing crazy stuff these days.Back when the 360 came out I got mine launch day and a few days later the pizza guy was delivering to me and heard all the commotion my friends were making and he stuck his head in the door (and a little beyond) and in a deranged ''I'm gonna rob you'' tone asked if it was the 360. I told him we were playing on regular XBOX and quickly shoved him out the door. And this was in a good neighborhood!Ok, back to the Wii. Have fun!

I'm not saying that ALL kids are rude and uneducated, but enough of them are that I'm sometimes ashamed to be a gamer and a forum poster because there is noreasoning with children that are ignorant and inexperienced in life. They only see what they want and are against all else. These would be the same kids who tell me I suck at Halo 3, even though I am a Commander rank and am ranked over level 35 on 5 playlists in the game. But, because I have other priorities in life as an adult, I suck no matter if I win or lose the game. Honestly, the kids can have the internet and melt it down for all I care. As long as there are still some decent people out there the future has hope.
