bump!connecting a wii to a projector.. HELP
What help do you need in connecting the Wii to a projector? It is basically the same as connecting it to a TV, except that you need more than likely get a wireless sensor bar. Let me know what info youneed and i'll help you cause I use a projector at school to play my Wii.-Shark2k
i had the same problem the other day. my brother in law got a projector for christmas and we were gonna hook the wii up to it but we never got an image. i dont know if it was because we were missing something or just didnt do it right.
Let me know what you guys did (how you hooked it up) and I'll try and tell you if you did something wrong or missed a step.-Shark2k
i didnt have a problem connecting my wii to a projector. If its like my parents projector it has several different visual connections, just do a trial and error to figure out which is the right one. As for the audio just put it whatever stereo setup you got(like surround or w/e). Thats how i got mine to work, but ever projector is different so who knows. Good luck though=D
it's exactly like hooking it up to a tv, i think he was wondering about the sensor bar though. Cause with a projector, will the sensor bar still work as good?
well, for the wii, i know i need to plug it in, and attach the sensor bar (i have one with a really long cord). but i dont know what goes in the slot where the composite/component cables usually go.

the sensor bar isnt the problem, but thanks
The problem with a projector is that if it is setup permanently (ceiling mounted, sitting on a permanent shelf) that distance is more than likely going to be longer than the combined length of the audio/video cables and sensor bar cable combined. It is also going to give you wires running on the ground. The best solution for this is to buy a wireless sensor bar (I purchased this one and love it: http://www.videogamebundle.com/ (can run off batteries or just get plugged into the wall, depends on which model you get)).The sensor bar will work just fine with a projector and you Inot even be able to tellthedifference between playing on a ''physical'' TV versus the projector. Most projectors now a days auto find the source, so you should not have to set it manually, but that could possibly be the problem the one person was having with not getting an image.
well, for the wii, i know i need to plug it in, and attach the sensor bar (i have one with a really long cord). but i dont know what goes in the slot where the composite/component cables usually go.
The composite/component cables go into that slot. The Wii can only accept composite, s-video and component cables. If the projector you are using can handle all of those 3 cable types, use the component cables and you should be set (component is the best). You have to let us know what types of connections you have on the back of the projector or give us the model of the projector that you are using.-Shark2k
Hi there I hope you can help me i've got an infocus I N 72projector and am really confused about how to connect this up to my Nintendo Wii. What wires/cables do i need to do this? If someone could get back to me on this it would be really appreciated.Cheers Murray
Quick update I managed to get the wii hooked up to the projector via the red and yellow cable but i dont have any sound apart from the sound coming through the controller. If someone could get back to me with how to do this it would be much appreciated. Thanks Murray
